A 1,200-square-foot penthouse addition to an existing 3,500-square-foot former top floor of an old tinsmith structure significantly expands available display and storage space for a well-known art dealer. The primary exhibition space is a simple, square, white-walled room at the center of the two-floor gallery. Residual areas arrayed off the main gallery house office space and storage. A double-height entry houses the reception desk and a stair to the penthouse, with kitchen, storage, and meeting areas that open onto a rooftop terrace. Exposed brick perimeter walls and exposed, white-painted wood structural framing contrast with interior walls of white glass and sheetrock, bamboo floors, and blackened steel details.
